With the San Luis Obispo Mozart Festival only a few weeks away, it’s time to bone up on the life of one of the world’s most popular composers.
“In Search of Mozart,” a documentary about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, will be screened tonight in San Luis Obispo — thanks to HopeDance Magazine.
Director Phil Grabsky’s documentary highlights Mozart’s human side, exploring money woes and family tiffs while following the Austrian native from his childhood as a budding musical genius to fame, fortune and failure as a popular composer.
Filmed on location in Europe, the film includes expert interviews, dramatic reenactments of events in Mozart’s life and selections from his finest works as interpreted by modern-day orchestras.
Catch “In Search of Mozart” tonight at 7 p.m. at the SLO City-County Library, 995 Palm St., in San Luis Obispo. A $10 donation is suggested.
