Eight gigs, eight days with the Tour of California

For bikers crossing the finish line, the Damon Castillo Band promises several doses of déjà vu during this month’s Amgen Tour of California.

Castillo and his band will perform at each of the eight stops, starting with Stanford University Sunday and ending the following Sunday in Pasadena. The band will make its way home to perform during the tour’s stop in San Luis Obispo Thursday, Feb. 21.

This marks the second year in a row that Castillo and his band have performed for the tour’s main stages.

Castillo, whose twin performs locally with Dominic Castillo and the Rock Savants, has long been a staple of the local music scene. His groove-laden R&B style garnered him a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell in 2005. Earlier this year, the band’s song Revolving Door was featured on the MTV show “Newport Harbor.”
